### How it Works

`HOTP` is a two-factor authentication method where a user must provide a valid one-time password in addition to a username and password combination. \

To use the hotp package, a secret key is first generated and shared between the server and client. The client then generates a one-time password by hashing a counter value with the secret key. The server verifies the one-time password by hashing the same counter value with the secret key and comparing it to the client's provided value.
